About FlowYoga: FlowYoga is located at 700 East Whitestone Blvd. #201 in Cedar Park (in the same shopping center as iHop). The studio offers over 40 classes each week including meditation, kids yoga, beginner, restorative, all level vinyasa flow classes, workshops and more.
What is Yoga? Yoga is a practical aid, not a religion. It is an ancient art based on a harmonizing system of development for the body, mind, and spirit. The continued practice of yoga will lead you to a sense of peace and well-being, and also a feeling of being at one with the environment. The practice of yoga makes the body strong and flexible and also improves the functioning of the respiratory, circulatory, digestive, and hormonal systems. Yoga brings about emotional stability and clarity of mind.
Class Description (Yin, non-heated class): Spark your soul’s awakening by igniting your inner spiritual fire during this restorative class. The Yin sequence is offered as a fantastic balancing practice to the common Yang, or hot physical practices. Yin poses (deep stretches) are held anywhere from three to five minutes. Holding Yin postures help loosen connective tissue, open joints, and give the sense of over-all spaciousness within. Join us for this balanced and soothing class that will leave you feeling grounded and at peace. Absolutely no experience necessary. All levels are welcome.
What to Bring: If you have a mat, please bring it (mats are available for rent at $2 per class). As you will be practicing weekly, it is suggested to get one for yourself. TJ MAXX and Ross are great places to get mats. You can buy a good one for about $15 to $20. Make sure you get a yoga mat, not a Pilates mat. The difference is in the thickness. Yoga mats are between 4-6mm, Pilates mats are 15mm and are hard to balance on. Be sure to bring water and a towel in case you sweat in class. FlowYoga provides blocks, straps, and bolsters to aid less flexible bodies.
What to Wear: Wear comfortable stretchy “yoga” pants, capris or gym shorts, a snug-fitting top (something you can tuck in or that won’t fly over your head). You will be barefooted (it is asked that you not practice in socks so your feet can better grip the mat).
Arrive on Time! Class begins promptly at the scheduled time. When students arrive late it disrupts the energy of the room. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before class. This allows you time to get checked in, find your place in the room, and use the restroom. If you arrive more than 5 minutes late you may not be allowed into the class. Please make every effort to attend all six classes to get the most out of this experience… and a special offer when the series is complete!
