$250 Reward for Information Regarding Vandalism to District Wastewater Lines
The Block House Municipal Utility District is offering a $250 reward for information leading to the apprehension of those responsible for vandalism of the District’s wastewater lines and manhole cover.
On Tuesday, April 15, the wastewater (sewage) lines in the creek behind Black Kettle Drive were vandalized, resulting in the discharge of approximately 20,000 gallons of sewage into the creek. Crossroads Utility Services immediately dispatched crews, who vacuumed approximately 14,000 gallons of water and wastewater from the creek.
Due to the quick response by Crossroads, the environmental impact of this vandalism was kept to a minimum. The water in the creek is flowing, and is clear. Approximately three dozen small catfish were killed as a result of the incident.
As required, the District reported the incident to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
If you have information on the vandalism to the District’s lines, please contact Gary Spoonts via email at gspoonts@crossroadsus.com. Reports will remain anonymous.
